Maths To be really good at mathematics, you need to be constantly using mathematics and thinking mathematically. There are plenty of everyday opportunities for all ages to practice number skills. Work out what change you expect or which items are cheapest per 100g and you can feel more in control of the world. There are excellent resources available on the internet with many activities and games that provide opportunities to practise skills and solve problems. Children and young people may also value the extra support of one-to-one tuition. Personal tuition can be very satisfying for the student and the tutor. The student can take more responsibility for their own learning and improve in a very secure environment. As a tutor I can ascertain exactly where a student needs help. I can give clear guidance; provide opportunities to practice and see progress being made in every single session.
